Be Present

Matthew 24:42
Stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.

God is present in all of creation. God is present in this moment. Are you? Are you fully alive and experiencing this moment of your life and what is happening around you? Or are you completely distracted by your mind chattering away about this or that? As Richard Rohr is fond of saying, “Your mind isn’t you!” Is the real you fully present to the person next to you? Jesus wants to be with you now…in this moment. The Holy Spirit is ready to show up in your life. The question is…are you “awake” enough to notice? Or are you dwelling on something from the past or worried about something in the future? Who knows…God may want to be present to someone else today…through you. So wake up! Set aside 10 to 20 minutes to simply be present.
